Milwaukee Latvian Hunters' and Fishermen's Club

We had a small turn out even though there was a great forecast for Saturday. We had 8 people sign up for fishing and 11 came for the awards dinner.

Fishing began at 7:00 am with fish weighing occurring at 5:00pm. Dinner at 7:00pm at a nearby supper club. Tough bite this year for all participants with lots of weeds and algae. One new club members signed up for this contest, welcome Misty!

Whitebass is the prevalent fish with walleyes, perch, catfish, northern, rock bass and crappie were also caught this year. Points per species per pound are assigned and fish weighed. Points calculated and winners announced at the dinner. We also had a prize for the two lottery winners, Lenny and Irene. Yeah! Walleyes are 9 points per lb and wbass 4 points per lb. and northerns 7 points per lb. It all adds up. Velta 1st place (40.93) , Karl 2nd place (36.24) and Erik third place (35.80). The world still turns :) even with this incredulous upset!

The Mosquitoes were so bad, everyone lost at least 2 lbs in blood during the weigh in!

Sometimes just one fish makes the difference. At times it is small, but this year it was this monster caught by Velta and expertly netted by Lenny! :)
